All About New York Realtors

by Sue Yee on January 27, 2008

The average price for a single-family home in New York City is $439,000. While the New York real estate trade was not immune to the countrywide housing market decline, its 4.1 percent drop was noticeably less than the overall drop of 6.1 percent. New York real estate remains some of the most expensive in all of the United States. Given the high prices of New York real estate and the number of savvy potential home buyers and sellers, the right New York Realtor is essential.

New York Realtors and New York Real Estate

It's important to remember that New York real estate isn't just about New York City. Areas such as Westchester, Ithica and even Buffalo are all part of New York, as is the coveted real estate up and down Long Island. Within New York City, the values of property can fluctuate wildly between condominiums, co-ops, brownstones and single-family and multi-family homes. A New York Realtor can help a buyer figure out exactly what he or she wants, relative to an affordable price range. A New York Realtor can help a seller locate the right buyer for reaching an equitable agreement.

About New York Realtors

Although you should always base your choice for a New York real estate agent on comfort and confidence, consider taking your real estate business to a certified New York Realtor. The National Association of Realtors accredits Realtors. They have additional expertise that can serve you well in your New York real estate dealings. Realtor accreditations include specialization in property management, residential sales and buyer representation.

What a New York Realtor Can Do for You

A New York Realtor can help you find buyers for your property or assist you with finding the right property to purchase. He or she can help you with all the financial aspects of the real estate transaction, from setting up escrow to securing a mortgage loan. A New York Realtor can help you make sense of all your real estate options.

Finding a New York Realtor

A great place to start looking for a New York Realtor is the New York State Association of Realtors website, at Nysar.com. At the website, you can find a list of accredited Realtors working in New York. The website also provides you with up to date information on the housing market and tools for finding and selling a home. You can also go to the National Association of Realtors website at Realtor.com.

It's not a bad idea to talk with others who have been through the home buying and selling process before. This can be a good method for signing up with your own Realtor. Those who are experienced with real estate transactions may be able to guide you to the right New York Realtor. Choosing a Realtor is an important decision, so take your time and make sure you are happy with the representative before moving forward.
